Get down to it

Been playing ball at the indoor courts of the MOE-CCAB lately. Appreciation to Jackson who was the introductory figure (reckon just as his job) to his ex-teammates from the national team and their weekly sessions. For as cliched as some things can get, sincerely it feels so good to be back (though not with much triumphs on the courts yet)!

Like the kick-scooter left untouched for years in the store, things get rusty after a while, even for a short span of a few months. Not realised untill the sores came all over after the first touch of the ball a few weeks ago. It began with streaks of sweat without any points. Bit by bit then, being hammered by the group of aged men (comprising team coaches, international referees and even CEOs), the feel of control returns. Latest self-rating: 6/10. That's almost comparable to the peak back in the unfavourable RJC blue. :)

ZK, Bern, Leon, Liu, hope you guys are playing hard outside the island as well. The team's triumphant name will be on your shoulders!

Taking flight

This was the thesis of the year in Raffles Institution's Secondary 1 cohort in 1999. And till date, almost everyone has begun their journey. It's time to get a glider.

ZK, best wishes for the Chinese New Year in Melbourne! Rock the courts over there, man.

By the way, never knew facials are such painful sessions of torture. Hafta think twice (or take pain-killers beforehand) next time. Bleahz.

Happy Valentine's Day to all.

Slingering heat

Been watching a few of Singapore Slingers' home games with Clara lately. Surprisingly the Singapore-based professional team (comprsingly 3 local players who have been sympathetically given a few rubbish minutes once every dozen of games and a cheerleading team which is perhaps more glitzy than the playing squad other than Mike Helms) has advanced into the end-of-season play-offs in the National Basketball League (NBL), "the next best league after NBA,' that was the proud comment given by one of the Australian expatriates who was also at the games. After all, folks should be happy enough there's at least a decent regular basketball entertainment in Singapore now. Might consider buying one of the half-priced team jerseys next season. Cheers to Slingers!
