Lost in Translation

Bert's favourite film doesn't leave anyone in a labyrinth like what its title suggests - it actually shines on the aperture of hopeful wonderland. So what, if things go as quickly as they come. Perhaps they have a little more meaning than one usually perceives, no matter how short-lived, and they are the simple yet crucial movements on an enormous chess board, which is a tiny piece of the jigsaw puzzle, which in turn is an element in a zillion-multi-structured particle.

Mass Rapid Transit

Trains are some enormously powerful social microscope. Reckon if one takes a Singaporean train every day for a few weeks, one could write a ten-thousand-word-long graduating thesis on this community. Simply look around and one might wonder how it is possible for some folks to fall asleep on a train. It's way too interesting (on both ends) not to think of movie ideas while people-watching. Comedies, tragedies, monodies and monotonies. So, think twice before settling for criticisms on local film productions in their lack of themes and sources, please. Nonetheless, the grass might always be greener on the other carriage.

Like that

Finally got into the shoes and realised how a teacher feels from the beginning to the end of a school year in a day. Cool, calm face with a daunted, pounding heart in the morning; cool, calm face with a unbearingly nostalgic heart for the kids' dismissal in the afternoon. 'Tis exactly what every teacher (no matter how straight-faced) goes through every single day and year and decade, and perhaps their whole life, without fail. Kudos to the holy men and women!

p/s: It's not for the faint-hearted. So, teachers and editors are both almost super-powered martians. Point taken.

Everything new

New year, new discovery. Found that someone looks ultimately sizzling in jeans today.

Anyways, one humble suggestion after catching a few movies in the past few days: do spend as much time as possible with loved ones. No regrets following that.

Geez, it's 2007.
