Happy Halloween

Gonna miss the night of sinister gruel and fun again (well, not again if alone watching bar-top strip-dancing in a Nepalese hotel bar is considered to be a night of explicit evil). Dad's exhibition opening went on gladly well though, with loads of guests and friends who caused a little over-stretching of facial muscles after the few hours.

To all those who came for the opening. here's a sincere thanks to you. To friends who are coming tomorrow and on Monday, see y'all there. Cheers! :D

Lastly, alas!

Okay, that was a pass in the driving test this morning.

So, the pace of life in camp finally appears clearly now. It seems so hectic (when technically there isn't work or school right now) that every breath taken slow and easy and every night of quiet and peace are truly appreciated and cherished, like now. No idea why simple things are apparently jumping out from different pockets of life (yea, like those lovely baby kangaroos, but not as lovely), all in such complicatingly sudden manner that perhaps juggling kitchen knives can be much more relaxing than handling these stuff. It's pretty much comparable to stepping in to a badly messy room, too stunned to know where to begin tidying up.

Oh well, that's what happens when National Service took the last two years of a hedonist's life.

Viewcam maximus

University interview was almost flung this afternoon. A mind brimmed (or some sorts, close to that) of ideas on art got badly hit by a mushroom bomb of an 18th-century English sonnet. Drats. Who ever said Oxford interview was gonna be a breeze. :( Additionally, there were comments like, "so, why did you do so badly in art and design?" and, "we are spoilt for choice here, mind you," making the lad almost crazy till his legs had to tremble so violently in the cold turkey to shake away the snowflakes.

But it was entertaining, after all. Quite an enjoyable mess. Haha. And now it's rejection letter or more (hopefully not Shakespearean) tests.

Good night, Shanghai

A place brimmed with life it is, especially when one's returned to the inadvertent island of monotony and conformity, wandering lost in the great leap of contrasts between the two cities. Reckon anyone would rahter be in a city of opportunities, though fairness is chanced upon one's smugness and flexibility, rhythm of spiritual and material life and the unfamiliar warmth between people of pure Eastern values totally unabashed by the invading imperialists if not for the chirpy local accent. Precious things which never can be characteristic in the Singaporean society flourish in Shanghai. Thus who doesn't wanna be there rather than being a fool-fighter sacrificing nonsensically to the brotherly regiment. Will be back.

But well, there are always reasons for the leftovers. Absence makes the heart grow founder.
