Drumsticks

Playing 4-on-5 full court basketball with half the team against Weeping, Michael, Gek and friends early morning at RJC after the previous night spent at Zouk getting high on free-flow brandy green tea wasn't at all scrappy surpringly. Bernard and Bertrand turned on the style with their offensive court mentality which is gonna be a great improvement to the team's scoring ability. Can't wait for the tournament this year, really. Can't wait to rock.

Anyways, found out something after talking (and analysing the past a little) to Sherry over dinner and felt like a complete idiot. Dumbo jumbo.

Lost

ZK has made his decision that will bring him away for six years. My best bro's gonna study Medicine at the University of Melbourne come February. This is a good decision, for anyone would have chosen it above NUS Science in realising his dream of saving lives. Felt sincerely happy for him and then (unmanly) depressed. Everybody (left) is really leaving in no time.

Aaron's heading for his studies in Brisbane next month. A tinge of something (or rather, someone) amiss can be felt in the bunk though the television still booms with football commentaries and exaggerated expressions. Well, what a blue Monday eve this is.

Mum says time is the best test of friendship. (Time is such a cliched tester for so many subjects, by the way.) It is indeed, since friendship may dissolve with thin air (though Magritte shows us differently in his Persistence of Memory) and somehow be relegated into plain acquaintance sometimes. Surely though, it isn't gonna happen. Promised.

Sunday drinks

Can't believe this. Two overaged boys spent the whole afternoon playing Winning Eleven 9 on XBox. Outta boredom and thrift (or at least in an attempt, pretty successfully), the low-cost entertainment actually worked. What's even more amazing is Honk at the end of the gaming session said, "let's have a re-match soon". What the heck.

Temptation almost scored a victory at KFC. Totally almost. Haha. Whew. Hafta thank Honk really for finishing the Buddy Meal himself. Fried chicken just isn't my cuppa English Breakfast tea.

Tea time

A year passed by so quickly that it felt like only weeks after Gek has left for Ireland. And now she's back again for tea at Paragon looking more radiant and thinking more matured than ever. The change in her was already a persuasive advertisement of studying abroad, let alone brain-washingly advocating the overseas education. But afterall, it isn't gonna be anything other than Fate that's making the final decision. Reckon the process of anticipating university life (no matter where to experience it) is already too exciting to handle lately. Just can't wait. :)

Medic, please

Doesn't it feel hotter than feverish everywhere everyday right now. With ZK's recommendation on the generous Indonesian channel, the liveless bunk has turned into something even better than the world cup hotels in Germany. Sleepy heads in the day, lightning eyes at night. Reckon cable television's losing way too much cash to the free riders. Haha. Bagus, bagus! :P

Seasons in the sun

Love the drizzles in the breezy afternoon. Having tea at Giraffe with Amy and friends was pretty Chinesely light-hearted. Hot tea in the rain was quietly fulfilling, and small-talking on joyful life equally lovely. Quite a pity though that this whimsical lady's leaving for Shanghai in a few weeks' time pretty permanently for work. But it's great to know that friends are sincerely arm-opening in every corner of the globe. Singapore's become a launching pad for everyone lately. Perhaps this is really what makes this place magically attractive and seasonal.

Reverse gear

"This feels like playing half a game without water, in jeans," ZK commented, after the Great Singapore Search for 8 pieces of Adidas black-and-white reversible jerseys. Suntec City, Marine Sqaure, Citylink, Capitol Building, Raffles City, Heeren, Takashimaya, Wheelock Place, Shaw Centre, Paragon and finally Peninsular Plaza. That was perhaps more shopping hotspots than they're visiting in Singapore Duck Tours or something. Haha. Four hours of brisk walking, complete insanity completed with complete sense of accomplishment.

Met up with Amanda after eons. Who says two (indecisive) heads is better than one. :P Getting to meet good friends once again is such a luxury. It was such a comfortable day spent with comfortable people. And, Tanah Merah is a nice place after all.

Cars and money

Finally got the chance to play ball this morning at the deserted old Republic Polytechnic. Solo training's seriously good stuff, especially when age is catching up and air-balls aren't really glitzy matter for the public to watch. Coincidentally met some ex-schoolmates like Samuel, Joel and Shane who were playing floorball there. Reckon everyone's having a good time in the force right now, more than ever, for the branding "old soldiers" aren't given out that easily. :D

From the last magical-turned-devastating experience, loads of things are learnt. Getting hurt isn't much of a big deal considering how microscopic one stands in this horizonless universe and how even tinier things like this really are. Think of the world, think of now, think of nothing.

Nothing's everything; everything isn't eveything.

By the way, back to the title. With wholly personal opinion (without offence meant), don't cars like Mitsubishi, Subaru, Suzuki and Mazda just give one the feeling of down-to-earth gansters' paradise (Singaporean version) kinda thing? Rather own a manual SEL or something. Haha.

Into the groove

Bunk-moving was really massive, especially the physical sizes of the necessities. TV, Hi-Fi, surround sound speakers, DVD player and electric cooker, et cetera. Sounds like quite a resort, doesn't it. Haha. The new bunk's two storeys lower, allowing less time to be wasted on booking in and outta camp, but the scenic view of the restaurants and shop houses along Sembawang Road isn't really morale-boosting during the workaholic (without-a-choice) weekdays. That was pretty much a satisfying accomplishment yesterday, making countless trips cleaning, carrying and arranging, though afterall, no one wished to make this his permanent home. :P

Nothing new

Began with a new diary after realising the last entry was on the last page of the old. This isn't much of a surprise if one believes in Fate. And unsurprisingly enough, the first page was filled with brimming anticipation and excitement. It isn't about a new experience with that, but a revelation of life after talking to a couple of dad's friends. Hope really never ends in life. Dream the life; live the dream.

Times like this

Partying at nightclubs isn't really healthy but indeed it proves to be useful for times like this. It was pretty happening a night at Zouk yesterday with Honk, Amy and Aaron plus family. Haha. Somehow reckon the old brand of Singaporean chill-out spot still stands taller than MoS (that place's only great if one wears amour). Music wasn't perfect last night but it was some thorough entertainment. Life's bobbing high again. Doesn't everyone just love the hilliness of experience.
