Bad toes and good nails

Internal and external bleeding that soaked my right sock with blood yesterday was obscene. The nail on my big toe's become black and ramshackle, hanging there shakily, a result of some huge guy landing onto it from a jump for rebound; while the tiny nail on my little toe's turned black too, like a huge mole on the toe, due to the new Dada shoes bought few weeks ago. Haha. At least they gave me a reason to skip PE today.

By the way, Carol's getting pro at being a nail buffer, or buffy, or whatever. She's turned absolute monotony during Physics lectures into nail-buffing sessions for all the guys in the class, while the others who've got their nails buffed would be admiring their shiny nails just like how I showed Sarah and the girls just now. Bleahz. Everyone's turning metrosexual these days. (Well, let's not talk about the 40-dollar haircut, please! =D)

Record

Shortest training ever - 30 minutes, today. Could see all the faces of my teammates turning from dark clouds with hellish lightnings to fair skies with carefree birds, that paradoxically was the complete opposite of the weather this evening, which caused Mr Ortega to call off all outdoors trainings in school. Had a meeting with Coach, Mr Nah, Ray and Kai then, deciding that Tuesday will be day of our first team cut. It's not gonna be a day to be remembered I guess.

Twisted is quite an interesting but typical thriller with a banal ending. But just that the assumed good guy who was revealed as the ultimate mastermind behind everything was Mr Traditionally-Nice-Grandpa, Samuel L. Jackson. Bleahz. Just realised lately that Lido cinemas have lost their identity by demolishing their rocking chairs for those big, soft ones like any other theatre around. Is that a sign of globalisation too?

Hahaha. I'm going way out of point. Headache's my silent killer tonight. Shall deal with it now. Tata.

12

Didn’t know there’re several rising NBA stars with number 12 on their jerseys, thought it’s just a left-over number anywhere everywhere. San Antonio Spurs’ Bruce Bowen and Boston Celtics’ Ricky Davies are to name a couple. These dudes rock the courts with 3-pointers and rebounds. Well, obviously disallowed to attempt the former,(quote Erickson, “Try shooting a 3-pointer in the tournament if you wanna sit beside me on the bench for the rest of the game. It’s outta your range.” Hehee.), reckon I’ll try to make my contribution to the team with the latter besides leading my guys. Counting down to the start of the tournament, 12 days... Whoa. How can anyone still remember what’s a GDP deflator when the action’s so close from now? =D

Quote of the day, “Common test… What’s that?”

Not scared

Caught The Eye 2 with old acquaintance Wenting just now. Reckon things are not as scary as they seem unless you're in similar situations. Here, it's when one's pregnant (which means I can never be scared by this one =P). If you're expecting do not watch this movie, please.

By the way, Shu Qi's upper lip's humongous. Hahaha.

Loads of unexpected occurrences happened to the team this week. Soo Tet, our best shooting guard, has quit the team for soccer and Xun Shi, the ex-star post, is possibly gonna return after his unsuccessful bid for HCJC. Oh well. Just hope that no one's gonna move in to or out of the team anymore after this because it's utterly annoying seeing people's indecision leading to inefficient team trainings and preparations for the tornament which is in 13 days from now.

But anyways, everything seems to be in the upturn at the moment. Thanks to all.

Lit up

Lovely Theng, just like how she was 2 years ago. Met her last night and the long chat at Holland Village was plainly great. Have I changed a great deal really? Don't know for sure but from how she looked at me reckon it was quite a bit of metamorphosis from that innocent Jack of those days. Missed her loads and was really re-amused by her idiosyncracies. =)

Like she'd said, I really miss the old days too. Days of simplicity, days of innocence, days of carefree joy. Haha. Perhaps I'm yet used to the age of maturity still, puerility forever stuck in me.

One dollar added

Realised just how many people I've neglected over the past years when I switched on my cell-phone today. So many friends actually remembered it's my day of the year today that I became overjoyed practically every half an hour and still counting. Didn't know that y'all do remember. I'm touched really. I wonder if there'll be anyone getting me an electronic birthday reminder or something for my birthday next year (pardon me, I'm really forgetful!). Hahaha. =)

Oh well. Happy birthday, Jack.

What's up may not come down

Back from the camp. Everything went rather well. Reckon everyone did enjoy this one as it was more of a team-bonding camp than a training camp, with the team travelling across the island everyday to play friendlies, having meals together outside and best of all, pubbing at Holland Village last night. (By the way, the 4-1 thrashing of Man Utd by Man City was pretty entertaining. Hehee.)

Anyways, hafta thank everyone for the presents for my birthday tomorrow. You guys all rock. Thank you for the wonderful gift. Don't know how you got to know a wallet is what I need most now but it was really nice. And I've decided to buy a piggy bank and save one dollar everyday to make sure I've got enough money for your birthday. Sometimes, it's quite a fun pastime having nights of insomnia just figuring out what's on your mind really. But I'm always scared what you think's not what I've thought to be. Oh well.

By the way, saying no is never an easy deal, especially to something that seems so wonderful, so right for the moment. I'm gonna do it for you, hopefully not making a fool out of myself and getting tricked by the omnipotent hands of Fate.

My last basketball camp

Looking back at the past years of basketball camps in RI and RJC, reckon this year’s will be the best, not only because it’s planned by my committee and I (ego huh, hehee) but also of the fact that this is gonna be my last basketball camp during my 6 years in the Rafflesian schools. Gonna rock it, hard.

Well if you wanna know about our schedule, here’s it, with full transparency: =)

Sat – morning training @ RJ, afternoon game @ RI, night sleep-over @ RJ
Sun – morning game @ RJ, afternoon game @ Marine Parade CC, night sleep-over @ RJ
Mon – morning training @ RJ, afternoon game @ RI

Feel free to support though. Haha.

Guys, let’s do it, with the best of our abilities. Hafta cherish this time.

Messy

Took the GP common test today. Came out of the MRL with a drowsy head. It not that I didn't wanna give my best but because I couldn't, a slight migraine nearly killed me when it took control and I had to bite my nails really hard as an antidote. Bleahz. Wonder when I can ever get an A for General Paper.

Finally, had my first early day this year and spent it with buddy Zhi Kai. Talked crap, wandered around, had lunch and caught Mystic River, some interesting movie which could have been quite a hit to me if not for the shabby Lido 7 theatre. 2 big man walking around midtown's appeared quite fishiy I guess, for I could see some lame expressions on CJ's face when he knew there're only 2 of us. Not funny. We're the only guys left from RI basketball (Yellow Batch of 2002) here in RJC. Being teammates for 5 years is no joke really. Brothers, brothers.

I just realised today that I'm in quite a mess. Hope there were nothing called gossips in this world. What you've heard maybe true to some extent but you hafta know that what's in the air these days can all be made up, even just by one single person. The power of rumours is extremely great. Just don't get blown up! Hehee.

Cloudless calm

All these days I've found, that what Ray says is always right. I was trapped in a fish tank within an ocean for too long, voluntarily. Stupid.

Had loads of fun with Ling yesterday, especially everything. Big Fish was quite a catch, with the unusuality in its plot making an impact. Never knew the video game arcades're still as fun as I thought they were 6 years ago, with all the new games which amazed me quite a bit. Shooting games are cool! Especially the one where one needs to duck, evade or tip-toe, you don't know how funny it was just watching her holding a gun hopping around in front of the machine. Hehe.

Life's always in one's own hands. Hafta enjoy when it's still in control. =)

Experience Points Added

Gryphons vs NUS (Hall)
59 : 107

Upon seeing the result above, one must be laughing at the scoreline. Have got nothing much to say but that was really an off-day for the team. Everyone played like a newbie and missed easy shots and gave lots of turnovers, including me, I'm afraid to admit. Reckon the best player was not Bo, though he scored over 15 points, but Liu. He's the man of the match, considering his good positioning and second-chance shots over the little play-time given.

Oh well. More matches coming up, will mostly be during the basketball camp this saturday thru' monday. Shake it up, guys!

Happy, alas

Overjoyed over the groupings for the coming basketball tornament. =)

National Schools 1st Round, Group C:
Raffles JC
Anderson JC
Meridian JC
Hougang Sec

This rocks, totally. Thanks to the blessings from above. That we've got a serious chance of getting into the 2nd round and semi-finals really lighted up my pathetic life these days.

Happiness does come once in a while, and during these years for me, it's once in quite a while.

In the air

Hope what I heard was not the truth, hope they said was just some crap, but it sounded like nothing but the dang bare truth. The whole world seemed to be talking about me, laughing at me, made me irk with disgust and even self-hatred. Wanted to stab myself while in the art room when I saw the electric drill in front of me, but didn't dared to even touch it when I realised how stupid I'ld have been if I did it. Would that be worthwhile?

Seriously I don't wanna jump to conclusions anymore in my life, at least before I get the whole clear picture of what's been happening. Gossips are dumb. But if gossips are proven true, I'll be the dumb one. Argh. Where in the world has my mind strayed to? What at all am I doing?

Lost. In the universe, emptiness. According to anti-art movement Dadaism in the 1910s, nothingness is not emptiness, thus emptiness ain't nothingness either. There's something, something disturbing happening in the life of this particle, at this moment. But that microscopic something shoudn't be anything bothering, as it is close to nothingness in the boundless emptiness.
